A Chinese lab just released the most powerful, freely downloadable AI model in history. And anyone can use it. I'm Chuck Getchell. This is AI in 10. What happened? Why it matters, what you can do with it. Let's go. Let's set the scene for a second. For the last few years, the most powerful AI models in the world have been locked behind walls. You can access them, sure, but only through a company's app or API. You type a question in, you get an answer back. The actual brain behind the system, the trained model itself, stays on their servers. You never touch it, you never own it, you never truly control it. That's been the status quo. Until this morning. A Chinese AI lab called Moonshot AI just released the full open weights for a model called Kimi K3, 2.8 trillion parameters. Writing, summarizing, researching, formatting, translating, scheduling, coding. If your honest answer to that question is maybe or probably, that task is in play. Not necessarily gone tomorrow, but evolving fast. The people who get ahead in this moment aren't the ones who avoid AI. They're the ones who figure out how to be the human layer on top of it. You bring the judgment, the relationships, the context, the creativity. The AI handles the grunt work. That combination is worth a lot more than either one alone.
